'Let's go outside' in Nursery

Nursery children have leapt into learning this term with our new Learning Quest topic 'Let's go Outside’. They have ventured outdoors to go on a Bear Hunt and created story maps to sequence the events and retell the story with others.

In school the children also went on an outdoor listening walk together.

The children have been working hard to develop their scissor skills through hands on activities

Our live story sessions have got off to a flying start! It’s been fantastic to see so many happy little faces interacting with stories, rhymes, number problems and listening games. We have shared picture book favourites, 'Incy Wincy Spider',  'Ten little dinosaurs' and of course our Talk for Writing book for this term ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ where children eagerly joined in by repeating key phrases and following actions along the way!

Our Learning Quest challenge to develop an understanding of freezing and melting excited the children very much.

At school, children selected small toys from the classroom, put them small pots with water and waited to see what would happen if they spent a night in the freezer! The race was then on the next day to explore ways to set their toys free from the ice!
