Natural History Museum

Year 6 visited the Natural History Museum. During our visit, we attended a workshop about volcanoes and earthquakes.

We investigated the geological forces from deep within the Earth. Using a seismometer, we detected and recorded ground noises and discussed why this was useful when investigating volcanoes and earthquakes. We also learnt about different eruptions, including effusive and explosive, and the resulting pyroclastic flow. Tasked with saving a town from a catastrophe, we used our knowledge and understanding to make difficult decisions and lead the town to safety.
